Average cost per kWh of the full monthly bill for a household, at the 10 largest suppliers (by number of meters).
Full monthly bill divided by the kWh, from 50 to 2,000 kWh a month, at the night share chosen above. Low consumption costs more per kWh because the fixed and network capacity charges are spread over fewer kWh; above a few hundred kWh the higher ΥΚΩ bands and the suppliers' consumption bands raise it again. The dashed line marks the selected consumption.
Yellow: base price plus a fluctuation mechanism that follows the wholesale market. Some suppliers fix the month's price at its start from the previous months' wholesale prices (e.g. ΔΕΗ, Protergia), others only after the month; only final published prices are shown.
Daily average of the Greek day-ahead market (ΕΧΑΕ) and its monthly average, in € per kWh. This is the wholesale price, before network charges, taxes and the supplier's margin.
EU comparison: Ember, European wholesale electricity price data (CC BY 4.0), simple average of the member states with a day-ahead market.
The full bill includes the supplier's charges, network charges (ΑΔΜΗΕ, ΔΕΔΔΗΕ), ΥΚΩ, ΕΤΜΕΑΡ, special consumption tax, special levy and VAT 6%. Municipal charges and the ΕΡΤ fee are not included. Network capacity charge for the supply chosen above (default 8 kVA). Regulated charges: ΡΑΑΕΥ decisions. Supplier prices are entered monthly with a link to their source; * marks figures from news reports not yet confirmed against the supplier. Market shares: ΡΑΑΕΥ retail report, August 2026. Prices are collected automatically from the official sources named on this page. The calculations, the analysis and the code of this site were produced with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and may contain errors. The figures are indicative: they are not an offer, a bill or financial advice and do not replace your supplier's bill or terms. Check the source before any decision.
The bill is calculated for a model household with a day and night meter: the night share chosen above (default 23%, from real household bills: 22–24% at every consumption level), the supply chosen above (default 8 kVA), the published price after the on-time payment discount, the supplier's direct-debit discount where documented, and the network charges in force in each month. Promotional offers, the fluctuation mechanism, municipal charges and the ΕΡΤ fee are not included. † Night price not on file: the night kWh are charged at the day price (the lower regulated ΥΚΩ rate for night still applies), so that figure is somewhat too high. A real bill can differ considerably.
